This time last year MotoGP contracts were pretty much done and dusted with many riders chopping and changing between teams. This time around it’s not as chaotic.
This morning, Jack Miller announced he has signed a contract with Pramac Ducati for 2018, presumably taking the place of Scott Redding in the team. Miller is the first confirmed rider to be swapping teams for the 2018 season.

Scott Redding was quick to congratulate Miller but not without poking some fun at him first. Redding’s comment on Miller’s Instagram post refers to some current tensions in the paddock, with Redding now dating Maverick Viñales’ ex-girlfriend Kiara, and Miller seemingly dating Redding’s ex-girlfriend Marielle.

FINAL UPDATE
At the beginning of the year Jonas Folger made the official statement about his withdrawal from the 2018 MotoGP season. The end of the 2017 season saw him not able to compete due to his ongoing battle with Gilbert Syndrome, and he felt best to withdraw from the new season as he does not feel 100% mentally and physically ready to race.
